Thunderbird
Update Thunderbird 9
Aprés une mise a jour, thunderbird ne demarre plus, sans message d'erreur…
Ma solution:
$ su
# cd /opt/thunderbird
# mv {,DISABLE-}libxpcom_core.so
Donc, ca serait la lib “libxpcom_core.so” qui serait le probleme… a suivre.
version 3
installer
Avec Debian Lenny, en gros:
Télécharger la version stable de Thunderbird 3, ici: http://fr.www.mozillamessaging.com/fr/
Decompresser quelque part (en root):
$ cd tmp/thunder $ su # tar xvjf # tar xvjf thunderbird-3.0.tar.bz2
Mettre dans /opt :
# mv thunderbird /opt/.
Purger icedove & Co. :
# aptitude purge icedove thunderbird
Créer un lien de demarrage:
# ln -s /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/.
Ca y est… on peut demarrer Thunderbird avec:
$ thunderbird
migrer
Le répertoire de thunderbird devient: ~/.thunderbird
Donc, d'abord pour répertoire vide:
$ mv .thunderbird .thunderbird-saved
Et puis tout déplacer/renommer comme cela:
$ mv .mozilla-thunderbird .thunderbird
Et voilà.
Il y a une longue procédure de ré-indexation de toutes les bases de mail….

Notification de mail
Il suffit d'intaller l'extension New Mail Icon qu'on trouve là:
http://moztraybiff.mozdev.org/releases.html
FireFox en navigateur par defaut
Pour cela, il suffit d'aller dans:
Preferences Thunderbird > Général > Editeur de configuration (Aussi nommé: **about:config**)
Et il faut modifier les options comme suit:
| network.protocol-handler.app.http | mozilla-firefox |
| network.protocol-handler.app.https | mozilla-firefox |
Et voila.
Firefox
Thunderbird en composeur de mail par defaut
Dans la zone URL taper:
about:config
Ensuite, ajouter ou modifier pour avoir en option:
| network.protocol-handler.app.mailto | mozilla-thunderbird |
Et hop.
Chrome
Dans ~/.mozilla-thunderbird/<mon_profile>/chrome il y a un fichier nommé userChrome.css contenant:
/* Global UI font */
* { font-size: 10pt !important;
font-family: Verdana !important;
}
Et voila une taille acceptable…
Thunderbird & GPG
Pour automatiser le traitement des messages GPG envoyés et reçus, il suffit d'installer:
# apt-get install enigmail
Le seul problème: il doit y avoir un bug, car il m'est impossible de signer un message sans “passphrase”… Donc, j'abonne cette extension pour l'instant.
